Israeli Army spokesperson Avichay Adraee shared on his X account:
Internal Hamas documents reveal how Hezbollah allowed the movement to position itself within “sovereign” Lebanese territory without the Lebanese state’s permission and in coordination with Iran!
The internal Hamas documents found in the Gaza Strip show that the group obtained Hezbollah’s approval to deploy in various areas inside Lebanon, with full cooperation from Hezbollah and under Iranian guidance.
The documents reveal a meeting held between senior Hamas and Hezbollah officials, attended by the former head of the Palestinian branch of the Quds Force, Saeed Izadi, to approve the joint project. Under these arrangements, Hezbollah agreed to assist Hamas in storing and transporting equipment to the areas where they would be positioned, in addition to providing financial support.
The documents also indicate that Hamas, with Hezbollah’s consent and support, planned to purchase advanced weapons, expand its military wing personnel in Lebanon, enhance their capabilities, and improve its missile program and artillery forces.
According to the documents, the Lebanese arena could help Hamas in a potential confrontation with Israel and allow it to effectively control areas within Lebanon.
These documents provide insight into Hamas and Hezbollah’s positioning inside Lebanon and further confirm that Hezbollah decided, without consulting or obtaining the Lebanese state’s approval, to effectively hand over parts of Lebanese territory to terrorist elements affiliated with Hamas.
Hezbollah, as the documents also show, operates in southern Lebanon as a state within a state, unhesitatingly putting Lebanon’s future at risk to serve foreign interests.
