The Progressive Socialist Party affirms its support for the negotiation process as a political option to halt the ongoing war, while emphasizing that it must be conducted on clear principles and exclusively through the Lebanese state.
Accordingly, the “Progressive” party calls for the preparation of a unified Lebanese paper defining the objectives of the negotiations and the national constants on which they should be based, stressing that no Lebanese component should be excluded from the negotiations to avoid repeating past experiences Lebanon has witnessed over the decades.
The “Progressive” party also underscores the importance of having clear and specific objectives for Lebanon, with a top priority being the cessation of fire and the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Lebanese territories they occupy, contributing to the reduction of tension.
Meanwhile, solidarity with the Lebanese Army, as the national institution that unites and guarantees stability, remains essential, especially in the face of campaigns targeting it.
The priority continues to be the protection of Lebanon, strengthening the role of the state and its institutions, and working to find political solutions that halt escalation and mitigate its impact on the Lebanese people.
