President General Joseph Aoun made a phone call this afternoon to State Security Director-General Major General Edgar Lawandos and offered his condolences for the martyrdom of 13 State Security personnel who were killed as a result of Israel’s shelling of the Nabatieh Serail.
President Aoun said that these martyrs had joined comrades in the army and other security institutions who had preceded them in martyrdom, like hundreds of Lebanese who watered the soil of the الوطن with their pure blood.
While condemning the continued attacks, President Aoun said that targeting state institutions and its security agencies would not deter Lebanon from holding fast to its right to protect its land and preserve its sovereignty, once again calling on the international community to shoulder its responsibilities to stop the repeated Israeli attacks.
The President also offered his condolences to the families of the 13 martyrs, praising their sacrifices in the cause of protecting the homeland and safeguarding its security and stability, and stressing that their blood will not be shed in vain.
