Interior Minister Ahmed Al-Hajjar told Al-Jadeed TV that the current priority is maintaining security and ensuring the safety of displaced people across Lebanon, especially in the capital Beirut, which is experiencing a high influx of displaced residents.
Al-Hajjar explained, "I discussed with the General Director of the Internal Security Forces and the Head of the Information Branch the complaints about the increase in pickpocketing incidents in the capital. Investigations have begun, and suspects have been arrested."
He emphasized, "There are no weapons in the shelters, and this cannot be tolerated. Security forces are reinforcing their presence to protect citizens."
Al-Hajjar added, "We are working to resolve the traffic congestion in Beirut and other areas, and to remove violating vehicles while taking into account the circumstances of displacement and the war."
