President Joseph Aoun received a phone call from the Federal Chancellor of the Republic of Austria, Christian Stocker, who expressed his country’s support for Lebanon in the current circumstances it is going through and its backing for the positions adopted by President Aoun to preserve Lebanon’s sovereignty and extend the authority of the state over the entire territory up to the borders.
The Austrian chancellor also expressed his readiness to help Lebanon in the areas it deems necessary, in line with the priorities set by the Lebanese government.
President Aoun thanked Chancellor Stocker for his positions toward Lebanon, affirming his keenness to strengthen Lebanese-Austrian relations in various fields. He stressed that efforts are under way to stop the war on Lebanon, secure the withdrawal of Israeli forces, and deploy the Lebanese Army along the southern border to enable the displaced residents of villages and towns to return.
During the call, the president also thanked the Austrian chancellor for his country’s participation in the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) in the south and for the role it plays in the work of the force.
