The Forecasting Department at the Meteorological Service of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation expected Lebanon to remain under the influence of mild spring weather with some local fluctuations, due to the influx of relatively cold air masses into the eastern Mediterranean basin.
A warning was also issued over high waves and the formation of rip currents on Friday and Saturday, especially along the northern coast.
Expected weather in Lebanon:
Wednesday: Partly cloudy to cloudy with fog over the mid-altitude highlands, with no significant change in temperatures along the coast, while they rise noticeably in the mountains and inland, exceeding seasonal averages. They will then gradually decline from the afternoon over the northern mountains, making conditions favorable at times for scattered light rain.
Thursday: Partly cloudy to cloudy with local fog over the highlands and a slight rise in temperatures along the coast, while they drop noticeably in the mountains and inland. Winds will also become active at times.
Friday: Partly cloudy to cloudy with a further drop in temperatures in the mountains and inland, where they will fall below seasonal averages. Fog will form over the highlands, and winds will become active, reaching speeds of up to 55 km/h, causing sea waves to rise to around two meters off northern Lebanon. Scattered light rain is also expected, especially over the southern mountains.
Saturday: Partly cloudy with fog over the highlands and a slight rise in temperatures. Some scattered light rain is expected at times, especially in inland areas from the afternoon onward.
Surface winds: Northwesterly to southwesterly, with speeds ranging between 10 and 30 km/h.
Visibility: Good along the coast, but worsens at times over the mid-altitude highlands due to fog.
Relative humidity on the coast: Between 60 and 80%.
Sea conditions: Moderate waves.
Sea surface temperature: 21°C.
Atmospheric pressure: 1015 hPa, equivalent to 761 mm Hg.
Sunrise: 05:31.
Sunset: 19:40.
