French President Emmanuel Macron revealed in a post on his “X” account that he “spoke with President Jouzaef Aoun, Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, and Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, emphasizing the need to make every effort to prevent Lebanon from sliding into chaos.”
Macron stressed that “Hezbollah must immediately stop escalating the conflict, and Israel must halt its large-scale attacks and intensive airstrikes, especially after the displacement of hundreds of thousands of residents.”
He noted that the Lebanese government is ready “to enter direct talks with Israel representing all segments of the population,” urging “Israel to seize the opportunity to start negotiations and reach a ceasefire and a lasting solution that enables Lebanese authorities to fulfill their commitments to Lebanon’s sovereignty.”
Macron emphasized that “France is ready to facilitate these negotiations by hosting them in Paris,” reaffirming France’s role in supporting Lebanon’s stability and creating conditions conducive to political dialogue and lasting peace.
