
Lebanese Ambassador to Washington Nada Moawad announced that she "thanked U.S. President Donald Trump for his commitment to supporting Lebanon and helping efforts aimed at تعزيز الأمن والاستقرار," adding in a statement, "I welcomed the extension of the cessation of hostilities, under U.S. sponsorship, for an additional three weeks starting Sunday," considering that "this step reflects a shared commitment to de-escalation and to creating the conditions necessary for meaningful negotiations."
Moawad called for "full respect for the declaration of the cessation of hostilities," stressing that "the protection of civilians, including members of the press and humanitarian aid workers, as well as infrastructure and religious sites, remains a top priority." She also reaffirmed Lebanon’s commitment to its internationally recognized borders, and that the Lebanese state continues to take concrete measures to preserve security and strengthen stability.
