From Baabda to Rome and Washington... Aoun and Salam put the files of the next phase on the table

President Joseph Aoun received Prime Minister Nawaf Salam this evening at Baabda Palace, where they reviewed the general situation in the country, particularly in the south, in light of the continuing Israeli hostilities.

The talks also addressed a new round of Lebanese-American-Israeli negotiations to be held tomorrow and the day after in Rome, as well as the instructions given to the Lebanese delegation stressing the need to demand the immediate start of the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the two trial areas before any other discussion.

Prime Minister Salam briefed the President on the results of his official visit to Turkey and the outcome of the talks he held with Turkish officials, foremost among them President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The discussions also touched on President Aoun's upcoming visit to the United States and the meeting he is set to hold with U.S. President Donald Trump.
