Saudi contacts with the three presidencies: Guarantees from Berri on the table

Press reports said that Saudi contacts took place over the past 24 hours with Lebanon’s three presidencies, as part of efforts to follow developments related to the situation in Lebanon.

According to the information, these contacts focused on obtaining guarantees from Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri regarding a commitment to halt any violations of the ceasefire, should one be reached.

The information indicates that these moves are an extension of the Saudi effort that accompanied the ceasefire agreement last April, which aimed to shape a clear path for the post-de-escalation phase, including discussions on a roadmap related to the issue of confining weapons to the framework of the state.
