MP Ashraf Rifi said in a statement: “I appreciate and commend Foreign Minister Youssef Reggi’s decision to expel the Iranian ambassador. It is a sovereign step that reflects the beginning of the state’s return to its natural role in protecting Lebanon. I see this decision as a clear expression of rejecting the transformation of our country into a ground for regional influence and conflicts.”
He added: “What is required now is to follow up this step with firm measures that restore the authority of the state and confirm that Lebanese decisions must be fully free and independent, without any external tutelage, alongside the state, the President, and the Prime Minister, to restore Lebanon as a free and sovereign country.”
