The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Syrian Arab Republic issued an official statement on Monday, June 1, 2026, in which it strongly condemned the recent Iranian attacks targeting the sisterly State of Kuwait, considering these acts a blatant and unacceptable violation of Kuwait’s sovereignty, security, and stability, and a dangerous escalation that could threaten the security of the region as a whole and undermine all international and regional efforts aimed at de-escalation and preserving civil peace.
Damascus affirmed in its statement its full and steadfast support for the State of Kuwait—its leadership, government, and people—stressing its absolute solidarity with it in the face of any threats affecting the integrity of its territory. It said this position stems from the strong fraternal ties binding the two sisterly countries, and within the framework of Syria’s principled stance rejecting any aggression against the sovereignty of Arab states or interference in their national affairs, noting that preserving regional stability requires respect for international law and the inviolability of states’ territories.
