Agriculture Minister Nizar Hani affirmed that Lebanon is no longer capable of bearing any additional support wars, given the difficult conditions the country is experiencing and the mounting pressures on various levels, especially with the presence of around one million displaced people.
In a radio interview, Hani explained that the Lebanese negotiating delegation stressed during its contacts the need to reach a final halt to hostilities, calling for a swift transition toward a more positive phase that would lead to a sustainable truce on the southern border.
He pointed to clear Lebanese positions confirming full commitment should a comprehensive ceasefire be reached, considering that any delay in ending the war multiplies human losses and deepens the damage affecting infrastructure, while some repercussions remain long-term and may be impossible to compensate for.
