
The Forecasting Department at the Meteorological Service of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation expected tomorrow’s weather to be partly cloudy to cloudy, with fog over the highlands and no change in temperatures. Scattered rain is expected, heavy at times, accompanied by lightning and thunder and a chance of hail. Snow is expected to fall starting at 1,800 meters. Winds will remain active and exceed 80 km/h, especially in the north of the country, with a warning of high sea waves. Rainfall is expected to ease in the evening, and the weather will gradually turn stable.
The bulletin stated the following:
General situation: Lebanon and the eastern Mediterranean basin are being affected by a low-pressure system centered southwest of Turkey, accompanied by cold air masses, leading to a drop in temperatures and winds exceeding 90 km/h in the north of the country. Snow is expected starting at 1,800 meters, and the system’s impact will continue until Tuesday evening, when the weather will gradually stabilize, with temperatures beginning to rise again on Wednesday.
Warning of a risk of drowning due to high waves and sea currents on Sunday and Monday, and varying heavy rainfall amounts in the vicinity of Beirut.
Note: Average temperatures for the month of May are between 18 and 27 degrees in Beirut, between 15 and 25 in Tripoli, and between 13 and 27 in Zahle.
