
The President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, received a phone call this evening from French President Emmanuel Macron, who expressed his condolences for the victims of the Israeli attacks that targeted neighborhoods in the Lebanese capital, as well as areas in the suburbs, the mountains, the south, and the Bekaa. He also conveyed his and the French people's solidarity with Lebanon during these difficult circumstances.
President Aoun and President Macron discussed the latest developments following the announcement of a ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran, and the start of negotiations between them scheduled for next Friday. President Macron expressed his readiness to undertake the necessary diplomatic contacts to ensure that Lebanon is also included in the ceasefire agreement, in order to put an end to the Israeli attacks on Lebanese territory.
President Aoun thanked President Macron for his continued support for Lebanon and its people, as well as for the assistance provided by France to help alleviate the suffering of Lebanese citizens who have been forcibly displaced from their towns and villages.
