Plasschaert: Feelings of gratitude and sadness ahead of my departure from Lebanon, with continued engagement in the next phase

UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert wrote on her account on the platform “X”:

“I am experiencing mixed feelings — grateful to the Secretary-General for his continued confidence, yet saddened to be leaving Lebanon soon. Lebanon has gone through many difficult days, but it remains one of the most beautiful countries in the world, as well as one of the most resilient and captivating. It is not yet time to pack my bags, and in the coming weeks I look forward to further engagement with the government and other concerned parties.”
