A person arrested after posting offensive content targeting religious authorities and state symbols on social media

The following statement was issued by the Army Command – Directorate of Orientation:

On 6/5/2026, the Intelligence Directorate arrested citizen (A.S.) for posting an image and writings offensive to a religious figure and a number of state symbols, and for inciting sectarian tensions on social media on 1 and 2/5/2026, against the backdrop of a video clip aired by one of the television stations. The investigation with the detainee has begun under the supervision of the competent judiciary.
