
Minister of Interior and Municipalities Ahmad Hajjar followed up on the workflow in the civil registry departments whose records were transferred from a number of regions to the General Directorate of Personal Status in Beirut, as part of measures taken to protect the official archive from Israeli shelling.
In this context, Minister Hajjar was briefed by the civil registry officers of Nabatieh, Marjeyoun, Tyre, Mays al-Jabal, Jouaiya, Jbaa and Tebnine, in the presence of Acting Director General of Personal Status Rodina Mraab and Director of the Joint Administrative Directorate Rasha Hourani, on the mechanism adopted to complete citizens’ transactions, particularly matters concerning those displaced from their areas.
The main challenges and needs facing the continuity of administrative work and the uninterrupted provision of services to citizens were also reviewed.
Hajjar stressed “the need to provide every possible facilitation to citizens and complete their transactions as quickly as possible under the current circumstances,” affirming that “everything necessary will be secured to ensure the proper functioning of work and the continuity of the public service.”
The interior minister also praised the efforts of the civil registry officers and the employees concerned, commending “their dedication in following up on citizens’ affairs and providing them with essential services despite the difficult circumstances.”
