Arab League raises the stakes toward Tehran: No justification for Iranian attacks and a call for decisive international action

Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Fahmy affirmed his rejection of any justifications for what he described as Iranian attacks, stressing that they are "rejected and condemned."

Fahmy said that states have the right to take legitimate measures to defend their sovereignty and protect their security, calling for respect for the rules of international law and for refraining from undermining the security and stability of states.

The Arab League chief also called on the United Nations Security Council to shoulder its responsibilities and take practical and effective steps to halt what he described as Iranian violations, while working to strengthen security and stability in the region.
