
The U.S. Embassy in Beirut announced the conclusion of the Rome talks between Lebanon and Israel under U.S. sponsorship, confirming that understandings had been reached on the structure and operational guidelines for the pilot zone, with the remaining details to be finalized and implementation to begin in the coming days.
The embassy explained that the next phase will see a transition to expanded technical talks focused on mechanisms for implementing the provisions of the tripartite framework, with the aim of reaching a comprehensive agreement between Lebanon and Israel.
It also confirmed that the two-day Rome meetings were marked by "productive and positive discussions," noting that the parties concerned had made progress in the course of discussions on the next practical steps.
