The Mayor of Qalaia, Hanna Daher, confirmed that “a decision was made to limit the Palm Sunday procession to the church area,” noting that more than 2,500 people are still present in the town. He added, “We thank everyone who is helping, an ambulance and emergency room equipment have been secured, and we are coordinating with the Lebanese army on the ground.”
Meanwhile, the Mayor of Rmeish, Hanna Al-Amel, emphasized the continuation of religious rituals, saying, “We will continue our religious practices and daily Masses, and today’s Palm Sunday will be limited to the church and its immediate surroundings.”
These measures come as part of efforts to ensure the safety of residents and maintain smooth movement during religious celebrations, while preserving the spiritual nature of the occasion.
