
At noon today at Baabda Palace, President General Joseph Aoun received US Ambassador to Lebanon Michel Issa following his return from Washington. They reviewed current developments, particularly the file of consolidating the ceasefire and halting the targeting of civilians and civilian facilities, in preparation for the resumption of meetings in Washington, which would lead to achieving peace and stability on the border and the announcement of that in Washington.
Ambassador Issa affirmed the United States’ continued support for Lebanon and its institutions.
For his part, President Aoun thanked the US ambassador for the continued American support aimed at achieving stability in Lebanon.
