
The Forecasting Department at the Meteorological Service of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation expected Thursday’s weather to be partly cloudy, with temperatures rising inland and over the mountains and little change along the coast, while local fog continues to form over the highlands.
The bulletin stated the following:
-General situation: Unsettled spring weather is affecting Lebanon and the eastern Mediterranean basin, bringing local rainfall, especially in inland areas, accompanied by lightning and thunder, before shifting to stable weather starting Thursday morning.
Note: Average temperatures for the month of April are between 15 and 24 degrees in Beirut, between 13 and 23 in Tripoli, and between 9 and 22 in Zahle.
-Expected weather in Lebanon:
Wednesday: Clear to partly cloudy, with a slight drop in temperatures over the mountains and inland. Clouds will thicken from the afternoon in inland areas, where rain is expected along with lightning and thunder, active winds, and fog over the highlands leading to poor visibility.
Thursday: Partly cloudy, with temperatures rising inland and over the mountains and little change along the coast, while local fog continues to appear over the highlands.
Friday: Clear to partly cloudy, with a slight rise in temperatures inland, no change over the mountains, and a slight drop along the coast, with dense fog continuing to form starting at low elevations.
Saturday: Partly cloudy with medium and high clouds and rising temperatures, while fog continues to form over the highlands.
-Temperatures on the coast: 18 to 23 degrees; over the mountains: 12 to 18 degrees; inland: 12 to 24 degrees.
-Surface winds: southwesterly, with speeds between 10 and 35 km/h.
-Visibility: good, worsening over the highlands due to fog.
-Relative humidity on the coast: between 65 and 85 percent.
-Sea conditions: low to moderate wave height; sea surface temperature: 20 degrees.
-Atmospheric pressure: 762 mm Hg.
