Aoun in Yarzeh before Washington... Suleiman calls on the Lebanese to support the state's course

President Joseph Aoun visited former President Michel سليمان at his residence in Yarzeh this afternoon, where they discussed the general situation in Lebanon and the region.

After the meeting, President Suleiman spoke about President Aoun’s visit, saying: “In my private meeting with His Excellency President General Joseph Aoun today at noon, before his departure to Washington for an official visit to the President of the United States, Donald Trump, backed by the majority of the Lebanese and carrying their suffering, concerns, and sovereign demands, we discussed the pressing issues troubling Lebanon and its people.

“The president showed his sincere intentions and determination to liberate Lebanon, unique in its democracy, pluralism, and global message, after all it has endured for the sake of others’ causes, especially what it has borne in recent years in terms of destruction, killing, displacement, and hemorrhaging in its economy and the minds of its children.

“He also demonstrated enthusiasm and courage in pressing ahead with his proposals after it became impossible to find other solutions that would save the country and preserve the dignity of the state, the people, and the army, without throwing itself into the arms of rival axes and subordination to any other state.

“Every sincere and honorable citizen must pray for his success and openly support his steps and defend the decisions of the state he heads.”
