Information Minister, lawyer Dr. Paul Morkos, said after the Cabinet session that the following decisions had been taken, stating:
"President of the Republic General Joseph Aoun said at the start of the session that, for the first time, the Lebanon file has returned to the American table, opening the door for us to restore the economy and begin reconstruction. President Aoun briefed the Cabinet on the atmosphere of the contacts aimed at extending the ceasefire, and stressed that he would pursue any path to stop the aggression against Lebanon."
He added: "President Aoun said during the session that contacting Netanyahu was never under consideration for him at all, and that he would work to address violations of the ceasefire and halt the destruction of homes and attacks on civilians, places of worship, journalists, and the medical and educational sectors, through the meeting to be held this evening in Washington."
Morkos also noted that "President Aoun presented the possibility of increasing the transportation allowance for public sector employees and granting them assistance."
