At noon today, the fifth convoy of relief and medical aid provided by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan arrived at the Masnaa border crossing, as part of ongoing efforts to support Lebanon under the current circumstances.
The convoy was received by the Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to Lebanon, Walid Al-Hadid, and the Secretary-General of the Higher Relief Commission, Brig. Gen. Bassam Nabulsi, at the head of a delegation from the commission, alongside the head of the Masnaa border center in General Security, Lt. Col. Ihab Al-Deirani, and a number of concerned officials.
Ambassador Al-Hadid stressed that the entry of the convoy through the Masnaa crossing comes in implementation of royal directives aimed at supporting Lebanon and standing by it in the difficult circumstances it is going through, reiterating Jordan’s steadfast approach of standing alongside the Lebanese people.
He explained that the convoy includes 25 trucks loaded with food supplies, relief items, medicines, flour, and infant formula, and is the result of cooperation between the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Higher Relief Commission, and the World Food Programme.
He noted that the aid will be transferred to the Rayak military base in preparation for distribution to displacement centers and needy families, pointing out that this convoy will not be the last and that relief efforts will continue in cooperation with international partners.
For his part, Brig. Gen. Nabulsi praised this humanitarian initiative, affirming that the total Jordanian aid that has arrived to date has reached about 100 trucks, and stressing its role in supporting the Lebanese state’s ability to meet the needs of the displaced and confront the exceptional circumstances.
He also expressed Lebanon’s appreciation for the positions of His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and the Jordanian people for the steadfast and continuous support they have provided to Lebanon in its various crises.
