The head of the Iranian Space Agency, Hassan Salarieh, announced that Tehran is continuing to strengthen its capabilities in the space industries sector, confirming that a number of satellites have entered the final stage of technical testing ahead of their launch.
Salarieh noted that Iran’s space industry is built on domestic expertise and young scientific talent, saying it has evolved into a knowledge-based sector that has achieved rapid progress in recent years.
He explained that the recent period has seen the completion of multiple projects in the fields of satellite design and manufacturing, alongside the development of ground stations and the execution of operational launches. He pointed to work on several satellites, including “Chamran,” “Hodhod,” “Fakhr,” “Navak,” “Nahid 2,” “Zafar 2,” and “Paya,” in addition to advanced models of “Kosar.”
He added that the upgraded “Pars 1,” “Pars 2,” and the radar satellite “Rad 1” are currently undergoing final tests as part of a space program that Tehran insists on continuing to expand and develop.
