
U.S. President Donald Trump announced that, given the sharp divisions within the Iranian government — which is not surprising — and at the request of Field Marshal Asim Munir and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, we were asked to suspend our attack on Iran until its leaders and representatives are able to reach a unified proposal. Accordingly, I instructed our military forces to continue enforcing the blockade and to remain on full alert on all fronts. I also decided to extend the ceasefire until that proposal is presented and the discussions are concluded, whatever their outcome.
