US State Department: Sanctions are a firm message to Hezbollah supporters and support the continuation of the negotiation track

A spokesperson for the US State Department said in a statement to MTV that the latest sanctions imposed by Washington carry a “clear message” to Hezbollah’s supporters, calling on them to “reconsider their calculations” and stressing that anyone working to undermine the Lebanese state will face real consequences.

The spokesperson emphasized that the United States supports Lebanon’s full sovereignty over its territory, expressing Washington’s desire for continued progress on the negotiation track in the coming weeks.

In a related context, he accused Hezbollah of trying to obstruct negotiation efforts, saying it is “the party that benefits from the halt in dialogue,” and affirmed that the US administration is working to create the appropriate conditions to ensure the continuity of the talks and prevent their disruption.
