
Press reports said the Lebanese delegation, during meetings with the Syrian side, requested the reopening of a number of closed border crossings, in addition to facilitating the transport of goods between the two countries.
According to the reports, the Lebanese side stressed the importance of overcoming logistical obstacles in a way that would positively impact commercial and economic activity between Lebanon and Syria.
For his part, Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa, during his meeting with Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, affirmed Syria’s support for the Lebanese government and its full backing, within the framework of a relationship based on mutual respect for sovereignty and the strengthening of fraternal and strategic cooperation between the two countries.
