Berri congratulates the new Speaker of the Syrian People’s Assembly… a Lebanese message affirming hopes for Syria’s security and stability

Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri sent a congratulatory cable to the Speaker of the People’s Assembly of the Syrian Arab Republic, Dr. Abdul Hamid Aqil al-Awak, on the occasion of his election as head of the assembly, wishing him success in carrying out his legislative duties, and wishing Syria security, progress, and stability.

The text of the cable read:

"His Excellency the Speaker of the People’s Assembly of the Syrian Arab Republic, Dr. Abdul Hamid Aqil al-Awak,

I am pleased to extend, in my name and on behalf of the honorable members of the Lebanese Parliament, my warmest congratulations and sincerest wishes on the occasion of your election as Speaker of the People’s Assembly of the Syrian Arab Republic, wishing you success in the performance of your legislative duties, and wishing Syria security, progress, and stability."
