President Donald Trump confirmed that the United States has carried out unprecedented strikes on Iran’s capabilities in recent weeks, emphasizing his intent to avoid direct war despite the stringent military actions. Trump said:
"Over the past weeks, we have struck Iran’s capabilities like never before."
"I do not prefer to use military force, but we are crushing their missiles, drones, and defense industry."
"We destroyed Iranian missile launch platforms and demolished many military factories, and we are continuing to do so."
"We inflicted significant damage on Iranian sites producing drones."
Trump noted that Iran is reaching out to the United States to reach an agreement, describing Iranian negotiators as skillful despite uncertainty about a settlement:
"The Iranians are pleading with us to reach an agreement."
"The Iranians are great negotiators, and I don’t know if we will reach an agreement."
He stressed the danger of Iranian nuclear weapons, recalling Tehran’s threats to the region before any U.S. action:
"We cannot allow lunatics to get a nuclear weapon."
"The Iranians attacked the Gulf countries, and their missiles were aimed at the Middle East before we began our strike."
"Iran wanted to control the Middle East, and no sane person would believe Tehran’s narrative."
Trump highlighted that the U.S.
strikes using B-2 bombers were decisive in preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons:
"If we had not hit Iran with B-2 bombers, they would have gotten a nuclear weapon within two weeks to a month."
He criticized NATO’s role in the conflict, expressing disappointment:
"NATO disappointed us greatly because it did not play any role."
"Iran should have reached an agreement with us when I took office."
"I said a quarter of a century ago that NATO is just a paper tiger."
"NATO countries were afraid to support us because they did not want to get drawn into the conflict."
Trump also highlighted the U.S. military successes:
"We are very advanced on the timeline of the military operation in Iran."
"We decisively defeated the Iranian regime, which is why they are negotiating with us—they are facing a disaster."
"We destroyed the Iranian navy and now have complete freedom in Iranian airspace."
"We eliminated the Iranian regime, and they are pleading with us to reach an agreement."
"We expect it will take 4 to 6 weeks to complete our mission in Iran."
"If we reach an agreement with Iran, the Strait of Hormuz will be opened, and we do not know if there are mines there."
