
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi held an expanded round of talks on Wednesday with Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni at the presidential palace in the city of Entebbe, followed by a one-on-one meeting between the two leaders that addressed the أبرز issues of mutual interest.
During the meeting, President Sisi affirmed Egypt’s pride in its distinguished relations with Uganda, stressing the importance of advancing bilateral cooperation, particularly in the fields of agriculture, irrigation and healthcare, in addition to broadening prospects for trade exchange and investment partnerships between the two countries.
Sisi also invited President Museveni to participate in the African Union Coordination Summit, which Egypt will host in June 2026, alongside the African Business Forum being held on its sidelines.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on regional developments, particularly in Sudan, Libya and the occupied Palestinian territories, where the two presidents stressed the importance of the role of neighboring countries in supporting stability and achieving lasting peace.
In this context, both sides underscored the need to intensify coordination and cooperation on water issues and the Nile River, alongside support for African solutions in addressing the continent’s crises and ending conflicts.
