Iranian media reported that a Qatari political delegation arrived in Iran today, Friday, on a visit aimed at holding consultations with Iranian officials on the rapidly unfolding developments in the region.
According to the sources, the delegation includes an adviser to the Qatari foreign minister, and it headed to the city of Mashhad, where Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is present, according to Iran’s Tasnim News Agency.
The visit comes as part of Doha’s efforts to strengthen its role as a regional mediator amid escalating tensions following U.S. attacks on sites inside Iran, in addition to the repercussions of disputes linked to security incidents in the Gulf region and the Strait of Hormuz.
