Israeli Mossad chief David Barnea affirmed that "the agency's operations succeeded in breaching the borders of Iran and Lebanon and obtained valuable information."
Barnea stressed, in a speech he delivered, that the Mossad "has achieved strategic and tactical intelligence accomplishments at the heart of the enemy's most sensitive secrets."
He said that "the agency has demonstrated new, pioneering and unprecedented operational capabilities inside target countries," pointing to "a radical transformation in the Mossad's mode of operation, as it has been turned into an offensive and effective agency in wartime, after previously focusing on covert activity between wars." He added: "This transformation was manifested in the operations against Iran and Lebanon, and was based on the creation of new units and dedicated capabilities over recent years, in addition to the adoption of advanced technologies and innovation at various levels of work."
He concluded by stressing "the need to preserve operational capabilities based on the human element to carry out missions and special operations."
