Prime Minister Dr. Nawaf Salam received a delegation from the town of Al-Burghliyah in the Tyre district, headed by Mayor Mohammad Khodr Al-Daoud, where discussions focused on the town’s situation.
For his part, the Prime Minister praised the residents for their resilience, as well as that of all southern towns that have refused to evacuate. He affirmed that the state stands by them and is continuously working to secure aid convoys. Salam stressed that the steadfastness of these southern towns represents the steadfastness of all Lebanese, particularly in the face of displacement plans and the establishment of so-called buffer zones.
He also emphasized that the fate of the Lebanese people must not remain subject to calculations that go beyond Lebanon’s interests and those of its people.
