High-level operation by Lebanon’s Information Branch topples ISIS security emir for southern and central Syria

The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement:

"As part of the preemptive security operations carried out by the Information Branch of the Internal Security Forces to track down and arrest members of terrorist organizations, and following careful surveillance and monitoring operations, the branch was able on 30-6-2026 to arrest:

H.R. (born in 1994, Syrian).

Investigations revealed that he currently holds the position of general security emir of the so-called ‘Southern Province’ and ‘Central Province’ in Syria, both affiliated with the داعش terrorist organization.

Preliminary investigations also showed that he rose through a number of leadership positions within the organization until he assumed the post of general security emir for the two aforementioned provinces. He was responsible for managing the organization’s security activities and operations there, in coordination with officials and emirs in the other provinces affiliated with داعش in Syria.

The necessary legal measures were taken against him, based on the instructions of the competent judiciary."
