Field measures on Beirut’s waterfront to organize shelter sites and relocate tents to municipal land

Minister of Interior and Municipalities Ahmad Al-Hajjar conducted an inspection tour of Beirut’s waterfront, where he reviewed the progress of the regulatory measures underway in the area.

Municipal guard teams in the city of Beirut, under the supervision of Beirut Governor Judge Marwan Abboud and in coordination with the Internal Security Forces, began removing the tents spread across the site, with plans to later relocate and consolidate them on a designated plot of land belonging to the Beirut Municipality in the area.

These measures aim to organize shelter locations in a more stable manner, ensuring the treatment of random encampments along the waterfront as part of a coordinated plan among the relevant authorities.

At the conclusion of his tour, Minister Al-Hajjar expressed hope that this phase would be brought to a close as soon as possible, with the displaced returning to their homes and resuming their normal lives at the earliest opportunity.
