
The Emir of Kuwait, Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, stressed the importance of national vigilance in light of the rapid developments unfolding across the region, emphasizing the need to protect society from rumors and attempts to incite discord, and noting that safeguarding stability is not the responsibility of state institutions alone.
He said: “Vigilance is a duty that is not limited to state institutions alone, and we must protect our society from rumors and the incitement of strife.”
He also pointed out that the region is witnessing a highly sensitive phase marked by rising tensions and unprecedented escalation, stating: “The region is witnessing rapid developments, increasing tensions, and an unprecedented escalation.”
The Emir indicated that measures have been taken to enhance preparedness, saying: “We have directed that the level of readiness be raised while maintaining public reassurance.”
Regarding the security situation, he revealed that Kuwait had been subjected to an attack, explaining: “We were subjected to an attack by a neighboring country that we consider a sister state, despite the fact that we did not use our land or airspace against it.”
He reaffirmed Kuwait’s firm stance on protecting its sovereignty, saying: “Our homeland is a red line, and we will not allow any country to compromise our security. We call on the international community to condemn this blatant aggression.”
He also underscored Kuwait’s right to respond within the framework of international law, adding: “We affirm our full and inherent right to defend ourselves in response to this blatant aggression in a manner proportionate to its nature and in accordance with the law.”
