Heikal: The army is steadfast... and the Israeli occupation is betting on stirring strife among the Lebanese

Army Commander General Rodolphe Heikal inspected the 11th Infantry Brigade in Naqqach, the 3rd Intervention Regiment in Manara, and the 4th Intervention Regiment at Henri Chehab Barracks.

After reviewing the operational deployment of the units, General Heikal met with officers and soldiers and congratulated them on the occasion of Army Day, stressing that the military institution remains steadfast thanks to their tremendous efforts and is carrying out its duty during one of the most difficult periods in the nation’s history.

He also said that the Lebanese people’s affection for and trust in the army are the fruit of the servicemen’s dedication across their various areas of service.

While underscoring the priority of ensuring internal security and stability, he told the troops: "Your vigilance in safeguarding security is a fundamental factor in the continuity and recovery of our nation, and in preserving its unity. The challenges before us are great, and we have no choice but to continue sacrificing and giving."

On the other hand, the army commander pointed out that internal strife is one of the objectives of the Israeli occupation and must be confronted.

He concluded by stressing the need to continue training and strengthen the capabilities of the units in light of the challenges Lebanon is facing.

He also offered condolences to the families of the army’s martyrs, who faced danger with steadfastness and pride and were martyred in defense of the الوطن.
