
The Ministry of Public Health stressed that it is "closely monitoring developments related to the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda, which the World Health Organization recently declared a public health emergency of international concern."
The ministry said in a statement that, "In this context, the ministry is following developments on a daily basis, in coordination with the World Health Organization, regarding any recommendations or health measures that may be issued by the organization in line with the evolution of the epidemiological situation," underscoring "the importance of strengthening epidemiological surveillance measures in health institutions."
It concluded: "So far, there are no international recommendations to impose restrictions on travel or international trade, or to adopt special measures at border crossings."
