A well-informed political source told Nidaa Al Watan that the visit, in which a large ministerial delegation from the Lebanese government took part in Syria, has opened a new era of normal and equal relations between the two neighboring countries, based on the principle of mutual respect for the sovereignty and borders of both states, in addition to cooperation across various security, political, economic, and commercial fields.
The source indicated that the results of the visit will soon become evident on the ground through a series of joint projects in different sectors, with emphasis on the importance of the two sides’ agreement to expedite the launch of a joint Lebanese-Syrian business council, which will hold its first meeting in Damascus in the coming weeks.
