
Minister of Public Works and Transport Fayez Rassamni held a meeting with Ziad Al-Mulla, Chairman of Sky Lounges Services, following the company’s win in the tender to operate and invest in President Rene Moawad Airport, in a step considered a key milestone within the project to reactivate a civilian airport in northern Lebanon.
The media office of the Minister of Public Works explained that the meeting comes within the framework of following up on the implementation of the airport’s reactivation plan, in a way that contributes to developing the infrastructure of the air transport sector and enhancing its operational and service capabilities.
Both sides affirmed that the project forms part of a national vision aimed at modernizing Lebanon’s aviation sector, stimulating economic growth, creating direct and indirect job opportunities, as well as revitalizing investment activity and supporting development in the areas surrounding the airport.
Rassamni stressed that reactivating Qlayaat Airport represents a vital project capable of strengthening northern Lebanon’s position as a pivotal hub for transport and services, and opening new horizons for economic and investment activity in the region.
