Information Minister and lawyer Dr. Paul Morkos said in an interview with MTV that “we are ready to go to negotiations, and this is a bold and advanced stance that upholds Lebanon’s sovereign rights.”
On the government front, Morkos stressed that “the position of the Shiite duo in Parliament does not undermine ministerial solidarity within the government. We are agreed on a ministerial statement and on a plan, and differences in political positions will not obstruct the government.”
As for public freedoms, he explained that “freedom of expression is sacred, and our efforts to combat hate speech have borne fruit to some extent. Despite all the challenges of displacement, we have not witnessed incidents of internal strife.”
