British maritime agency: “Restrictions will cover the Gulf, the Gulf of Oman, and the Arabian Sea east of the Strait of Hormuz”

A British maritime agency reported that restrictions have been imposed on access to Iranian ports and coastal areas, a move that is likely to affect shipping traffic in the region.

It said: “We have received information indicating that restrictions on access to Iranian ports and coastal areas will take effect from 14:00 UTC today, Monday.”

It added: “The restrictions will cover the Gulf, the Gulf of Oman, and the Arabian Sea east of the Strait of Hormuz, and will apply regardless of the flag vessels are flying or the Iranian port with which they will be dealing.”
