Hezbollah issued a statement regarding the decision by the Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs:
"Hezbollah condemns and categorically rejects the decision issued by the Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which lacks any legal justification, to withdraw approval for the accreditation of the Iranian ambassador to Lebanon, Mohammad Reza Shibani, declare him ‘persona non grata,’ and demand his departure from Lebanese territory. This reckless and condemnable step does not serve Lebanon’s supreme national interests, its sovereignty, or its national unity. Rather, it constitutes a subversion of these principles and a clear submission to external pressures and directives, as well as a blatant encroachment on the powers of the President of the Republic. The flimsy pretexts used to justify this arbitrary decision, accusing the ambassador of interfering in Lebanon’s internal affairs, are further confirmation that this is a politically motivated, vindictive measure lacking the minimal wisdom and national responsibility."
"This dubious measure, issued at a highly critical time, requires Lebanon to unite all its citizens across political, partisan, cultural, and social spectrums, and to adopt a unified official stance to strengthen resilience, halt aggression by the Israeli enemy, and force its withdrawal from the occupied territories. The Foreign Minister, by his words and actions, positions himself in a stance that serves only the Zionist enemy, acting knowingly or unknowingly from a narrow, partisan mentality bent on weakening the Lebanese state and stripping it of the cohesion it needs in this delicate and sensitive stage, pushing for further concessions in favor of the enemy to pave the way for placing Lebanon entirely under U.S.-Israeli tutelage."
"What makes this decision even more dangerous and outrageous is that it comes from the same minister who remains completely silent in the face of blatant U.S. interventions in Lebanon and the statements of its officials and envoys, which have harmed Lebanon and incited against a key component of the country. Yet, he shows force against a friendly state that has never withheld support and assistance to Lebanon, has stood by its people in the darkest times, and contributed to strengthening its ability to protect its land and citizens without ever interfering in its internal affairs or undermining its sovereignty, maintaining strong and good relations with Lebanon."
"Hezbollah considers this decision a major national and strategic mistake that does not serve national unity, opens the doors to internal division, deepens the national rift, and leads the country toward a highly dangerous path of dependence, weakness, and exposure. Hezbollah calls on the President and the Prime Minister to demand that the Foreign Minister—who has lost his national eligibility by prioritizing partisan interests over Lebanon’s security and stability—immediately retract this decision due to its serious repercussions. The minister and his party must act with wisdom and caution, fully aware of the risks facing Lebanon, and understand that protecting Lebanon’s sovereignty does not come by yielding to foreign pressures or antagonizing a key component of the nation, nor by offending countries that have supported Lebanon and stood by its side. True protection of Lebanon comes through national cohesion and confronting the country’s sole real enemy—the Zionist enemy."
