A circular issued by Rakan Nassereddine highlighted that the Ministry has received multiple complaints from citizens about being charged additional fees under various pretexts, despite having 100% coverage. The complaints involved both public and private hospitals that had previously expressed willingness to implement earlier ministry directives to avoid imposing extra costs on patients and refugees without guarantors, ensuring that all medical and hospital services covered by the Ministry are provided at full cost coverage.
The circular emphasized the necessity for all concerned public and private hospitals (the list is attached to the circular) to comply with 100% coverage for hospitalizations and emergency services, under the threat of legal measures for non-compliance.
Patients and refugees without a guarantor were also reminded to report any requested extra fees to the Ministry of Health via the hotline 1787.
