
The Council of the League of Arab States held an extraordinary ministerial-level meeting on Sunday, March 8, 2026, via video conference, at the request of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Sultanate of Oman, the State of Qatar, the State of Kuwait, and the Arab Republic of Egypt. The request was supported by the member states and chaired by H.E. Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, Minister of State of the United Arab Emirates (Chair of the 164th Ministerial Council session).
The meeting was attended by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and heads of delegations of the member states, H.E. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, and H.E. Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council. The discussions focused on the targeting of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Arab states that were subjected to Iranian attacks.
