Hezbollah issued a statement of condolence on the death of the former Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, which read:
Hezbollah extends its deepest condolences to the State of Qatar, its Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, its government and its people, on the passing of Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, asking Almighty God to envelop him in His vast mercy and to grant his family patience and solace.
Hezbollah recalls the prominent role the late leader played in supporting Lebanon and standing by its people through most of the difficult stages they endured, particularly the State of Qatar’s support under his leadership for the المقاومة during the Zionist aggression against Lebanon in 2006, and its commendable and well-known contribution to rebuilding the villages and homes destroyed by the aggression. We also recall the late Emir’s unique visit at that time to Beirut’s southern suburbs and the city of Bint Jbeil as a confirmation of his loyalty and affection for the Lebanese people.
Hezbollah also values the late leader’s supportive positions toward Arab and Islamic causes, foremost among them the Palestinian cause and the right of the Palestinian people to resist the occupation in order to reclaim their rights, land, and holy sites.”
