The Ministry of Public Works and Transport issued the following statement:
“The Ministry of Public Works and Transport continues to carry out its field operations at an intensive pace in southern Lebanon as part of the ‘Reconnecting Lebanon’ campaign, within the framework of ongoing follow-up to the works under way. The effort is focused on maintaining traffic flow along vital routes and completing the reopening of internal roads in affected areas, in parallel with addressing the direct damage sustained by road infrastructure.
In this context, the ministry’s teams completed a series of targeted interventions at a number of key points, most notably the Qasmiyeh Bridge, where road resurfacing works were carried out, allowing it to be safely and orderly reopened to traffic.
The teams also continued their work in the Tyre district, where the Jaafariyeh road was reopened and works there were completed, alongside field interventions in the vicinity of Jaafariyeh School and Nano Coffee within the city of Tyre, helping ease movement within neighborhoods. Road-opening works were also completed in Jbal al-Botm, and the reopening of routes in the Ain Baal–Wadi Jilo–Jabal Hanin area was finalized, with rubble and obstacles removed to ensure smooth traffic flow.
In the town of Abbasiyeh, near Furn Lebanon (Al-Riz Complex), the road was reopened and passage facilitated, strengthening links between villages and neighboring areas. In the Nabatieh district, teams carried out rehabilitation works and reopened key routes within the city of Nabatieh, including the Maslakh neighborhood junction, Sabah junction, the area opposite the Evangelical Church, and the Nuns’ Quarter, restoring normal traffic at these vital points.
The ministry also completed its works within the municipal boundaries of Kfartebnit, where roads were reopened and traffic movement facilitated, in addition to clearing rubble and obstacles and reopening the road in the Manshara–Hanawiya area.
These interventions fall within the framework of ongoing efforts to reconnect affected areas and facilitate citizens’ movement, particularly in villages whose road networks sustained direct damage, in a way that ensures safe access to homes and essential service centers.
The Ministry of Public Works and Transport affirms that field operations are continuing without interruption, with its teams remaining on constant alert around the clock, expanding their deployment in line with urgent priorities, and accelerating response efforts across various routes in step with developments on the ground, in order to ensure the continued movement of citizens and services.”
